Nicole Boliaux, Nikki to her friends, graduated from Western Kentucky University and the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Aarhus, Denmark.
Nikki is a mid-westerner through and through with a focus on the beauty of relationships. As a documentary filmmaker and journalist, her main goal is to shed light on the beauty of the mundane and connect people through empathy. She has a deep fascination with the generation effect of the opioid crisis and the prison industrial complex.
In her spare time, Nikki loves watching documentaries in her Louisville apartment while embroidering and reading @WeRateDogs.
Currently, she is a staff videographer working on special projects at the Courier Journal in Louisville, Kentucky. She has worked for a variety of publications and clients including NPR, Buzzfeed, The Smithsonian Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, ViewFind, Tulsa World, Deseret News, The Salt Lake Tribune, The Oklahoman and The Cleveland American.
